Bohemian Switzerland 2012

Bohemian Switzerland 2012

Straight back from 2012, how long ago was that…? :)

Bohemian Switzerland (České Švýcarsko [CZ]) is a national park situated in north Czechia, right next to the German border. It’s area is about 79 square kilometres, its highest elevation is the mountain Děčínský Sněžník at 726m above sea level. It has been a protected area since 1972. It’s a lovely hiking destination, quite popular with tourists and well suited for people who don’t hike much.I went there in June of 2012 with some work colleagues and we hiked for 4 days, doing 3 routes over 20 km and one shorter on the last day.

Day 1

On the first day we took very picturesque trail from Hrensko, that included boat ride!

Day 2

Unfortunately I don’t have the record how exactly did the hiking route go on our second day (I lost my notes). But it was great, and also very hot and humid. ;)

Day 3

3rd day route was partially through Germany, not much going up and down, but still very nice views.

Day 4

On our last day, we took a bit shorter hike but we got to visit WWII bunkers along hiking route and lovely situated ruins of Dolsky Mlyn (an old mill).
